Brighton under Roberto De Zerbi

Image
Golden Season: The 2022–23 season is the 121st season in the existence of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club and the club's sixth consecutive season in the Premier League . In addition to the league, they also competed in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup . Brighton Tactics: De Zerbi uses possession partly as a means of encouraging the opposition to press, luring them forward in such a way that allows Brighton to suddenly changed tempo and, spinning around the charge of bodies, attack the final third in large numbers. Tactic Analysis: Under De Zerbi , their full-backs tend to stay wide but closer to the defence in midfield. This essentially gives them a 2-4-4 in possession, with the wide attacking players pushing up alongside the striker and attacking midfielder behind the opposition's defence.

The Old Man and the Sea

Through the Atlantic flew the skiff.   To its home at the harbor where I sat stiff.   For three bleak daylights and moonless nights.   I intently awaited and scanned the sights.   To and fro and for countless times.       And bear, though this mare napped out placidly and fair,   Brewing within it are but boiling breakers of despair.   And beware, though the wind might cunningly feign mercy,   Gusting gales are ruthlessly ripping ships with treachery.   However, it might only be my subjective sentiments    That nag me to misjudge both mighty elements.       The tide remained low but never did my dread,   For the lost at sea and possibly dead.   “Don’t yield old man,” I said.   “Soon the gates of this horizon will cast a silhouette.   “And your fisherman’s patience will pay off its debt.”       Wheth...

Why You SHOULD Read "Animal Farm"

Image
One of the best books that portray the evolution of a society, its social classes and political changes is Animal Farm by George Orwell. The book opens up with one remarkable scene of a pig giving an inspiring speech to his younger farm animals. He talked about the oppression of farm animals, the monstrosities of humans and a song of hope to liberate themselves. This introduction represents the prelude of a historical   revolution.   The second important scene in the book introduces the primary characters along with giving hints about the dynamic roles and changes they undergo in the upcoming events. This scene alludes to the unpredictable roles that real historical figures play.   The following events in the book represent the spark of the revolution, the revolution, liberty and independence, and lastly civil war. At the end of this epic novella , George Orwell depicts a hearty interaction between the animals and humans. This depicts that the foe becomes a friend...

The History of Calculating Pi

Image
From Archimedes's polygon divisons to Newton's calculus, one constant has interested mathematicians for about 2000 years!  And it's non other than Pi       So what's all the fuss about it? Well, mathematicians  have been trying to calculate as many digits of it as accurately possible. Starting with Archimedes, he claculated that Pi would be between 3.1408 and 3.1429. Now that is all the accuracy you would need for Pi.However, mathematicians didn't stop there. For the next 2000 years, each contributed to higher and higher precisions. One astronomer, Christoph Grienberger, manually calculated 39 digits of Pi. How did they do this? Well, it started with Archimedes division of polygons. 1.First you have to prove that Pi is between 3 and 4. To do this draw a hexagon inside of a circle with radius 1. Circle with radius 1 Then, divide the hexagon into 6 equilateral triangles. This way, you can prove that each side of the hexagon is(1) and that the perimeter of the h...

Giants of the Animal Kingdom #1

Without a doubt, sharks are among the most feared creatures on Earth. And even though they rarely attack divers, the media and the film industry imbued young generations with the premise that sharks lurk in the deep just to hunt humans. But little do they know that even the largest shark in the world is as harmless as your aquarium goldfish.  Largest Fish in the World                       So what exactly is that creature? Rhincodon Typus(Whale Sharks): is the largest slow moving shark that filter feeds on plankton and small fish and is the only extant member of its family and genus. Size and Growth :Whale Sharks are the largest non-cetaceans.Females reach lengths of about 14 meters while males grow up to 8 meters on average. Both have a slow metabolism with males reaching sexual maturity at about 25 years of age. Habitat :Whale Sharks live in tropical pelagic areas where they don't dive deep. Pelagic Zone Reproduction : Whale sh...

Bipolar Disorder and Lithium Treatments

"There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn't." ―John Green In my opinion mental health is more vital to one's success more than one's physical health(though the latter should also NEVER be ignored). I mean, Stephen Hawking was completely paralyzed yet he was one of the most intelligent scientists on Earth. That is why understanding brain disorders and finding treatments for them is very important.  One common disorder is Bipolar Disorder, a mental condition in which the person's mood fluctuates between episodes of mania,a period of emotional highs, and depression.  There are three types of Bipolar disorder depending on the episodes and the number of days the episodes occured. The first type is Bipolar 1 which is the most severe type where the patient experiences mania for more than 7 days followed by depressive episodes. Bipolar 2 is a less severe cycle between depression and hypomania(a less severe form of mania). The last and most mild form of B...

Chocolate's Secret of Happiness

Image
Did you know that chocolate is actually a fruit? Yes, it’s widely considered a candy, but it’s actually made from cacao trees. Have you also wondered why chocolate makes you feel happy, or relaxed? Well, the secret might not only lie in the chemical structure of the fruit, but mainly in the psychological effect of consuming the chocolate itself. Cacao Beans  Cacao Fruit One main component of the cacao fruit is phenethylamine, a natural antidepressant that acts on the nervous system. It binds to the TAAR1 receptors in the nervous system causing the release of dopamine and norepinephrine. Dopamine reinforces enjoyable sensations and behaviors—like eating chocolate. Norepinephrine makes you feel jittery and aware. It also increases blood pressure, and sugar levels. Another component is tryptophan, an amino acid that the body changes...
